“KĀNEOHE” the long anticipated follow up to 2002’s “E Apo Mai”, by Hawaii’s own Nathan Aweau.

12 original songs breathe life in this awesome creation of sight and sound.

Kāneohe carries the listener into a journey of mele (song) through the eyes and heart of Nathan’s experiences and imagination.  Eight contemporary pieces sung in the voice of Hawaiian language – in the beauty and spirit of ‛ōlelo Hawaiian.

With the introduction of the first song, E Pii Mai Ke Kai, we are swept back in time to Hawaii’s first seafaring travelers.  Then, awakened into the present, the song explodes into a contemporary rock groove.  In this song, and many others that you will experience, Nathan infuses the use of today’s electronic & acoustic instruments with ancient Hawaiian implements creating a unique appeal.

In the second track, which is the title track, Nathan paints a beautiful picture of his home town of Kāneohe.  The towering Koolau range and its many waterfalls on rainy days…this is just the beginning of a beautiful tale.  Every song will lift you to another level of emotion and consciousness.  The musical journey then leaves us with a final song, In The End, that reminds us of what is truly important in our lives – love.

Amongst his contemporaries, Nathan is well known for his unique flavor in writing, arranging, and performing and he continues to deliver.  Every song is written, arranged, and performed (all instruments and vocals) by Nathan.  Taking yet another step further, he wore the hat of an engineer mixing and mastering the entire production.

Every song will touch you and may give you a sense of connection.  We truly get an insight into why Nathan boasts about his hometown – Kāneohe.

May you be blessed by the mana, the spirit,  of Kāneohe & Nathan Aweau.
